Saturday 20 May 5PM.
The Shorebird Quest celebrates the migratory shorebirds of Yawuru Nagulagun / Roebuck Bay. Watch as hundreds of illuminated puppets light up the mudflats under the Kimberley night sky, with storytelling, dance and original music performed by local musicians, and Broome school and community choirs. Bring your family and friends, a picnic, something to sit on and enjoy as Yawuru Country knowledge brings to life the story of Curtis the Curlew and his perilous journey from Siberia to Broome. If you have accessibility requirements, please don't hesitate to be in touch. Contact us at theatrekimberley@gmail.com so we can do our best to make your experience more enjoyable. The romantic-comedy musical theatre extravaganza would not be possible without many local community partnerships, including the Parks & Wildlife Services Kimberley's Yawuru Rangers and Nyamba Buru Yawuru's Country Managers, Goolarri Media, Broome schools, Environs Kimberley, Broome Bird Observatory and the Shire of Broome.
